About Denver International Airport

From the expansive and beautiful Jeppesen Terminal to Colorado's second largest public art display, Denver International Airport is renowned for aesthetics, aviation safety, customer satisfaction, and passenger convenience. Though one of the newest major airports in the country (opened in 1995), it is the nation's sixth busiest airport and the 11th busiest in the world. Most restaurants and other amenities are located on the individual concourses which are reached via an underground train system. Kids love to ride in the front or rear of the train, looking out into the tunnel, to see the pinwheels and entertaining wall decorations that move with the wind generated by the passing train cars.

Getting There

The airport is easily accessed by interstate highways. DIA is located less than 35 minutes from downtown Denver by car, shuttle buses, public transportation, or taxis. Peña Boulevard is the primary route to DIA. Peña Boulevard is accessible from Interstate 70 (Exit 284 eastbound, Exit 285 westbound), from Airport Boulevard, from Tower Road, or from E-470.
