The Des Moines Botanical Center offers families plenty of opportunities to explore and discover beauty in nature. Kids can also pick up a scavenger hunt and activity pamphlet at the front desk when they visit, and try to find specific plants and characteristics as they tour the Dome and the seasonal outdoor gardens.
The Riverwalk Cafe inside the Dome serves lunch (Mon-Fri 11am-2pm; Sat 11am-3pm). A gift shop is open daily, 10am-5pm.

Enhance your exploration of the Botanical Center by checking out a Discovery Backpack filled with an educational activity guide, materials, and fun facts. Two versions are available: The Wonderful World of Plants for ages four to seven, and Let's Learn about Plants for ages eight to 12.
