Attractions offered at the Deseret Peak Complex include a Pitch 'n Putt Golf Course, the Oquirrh Mountain Mining Museum, a BMX track, Motocross/BMX beginner tracks, the Black Rock Raceway, the Utah State Firefighting Museum, both indoor and outdoor arenas, a Demolition Derby arena, an aquatic center, a softball and baseball complexes, multi-purpose fields, an archery park, horse stables, a large pavilion, playgrounds, concession stands, and an equestrian race track.

The complex is the site of the Tooele County Fair each summer. For information about the fair, visit www.tooelefair.com. Tickets for the fair can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 801.325.SEAT.

The Aquatic Center features an Olympic size pool and a wading area with three water features and a water slide. Swimming lessons and birthday party packages are both offered. For more information call 435.843.4035.

The Archery Park and Range was designed by the Oquirrh Mountain Bowman's Association, and features a one mile long field course with paved pathways, 14 targets (with 14 more under construction), and a wheelchair accessible three-acre distance shooting range. It is open for practice year-round, and open for events by appointment.

The Horse Race Track and Stables features a 3/4 mile long track for chariots, horse races, polo cross, and horse training. Bleachers provide seating for 2,000 fans, and the stables are available for overnight stays. The track is open to the public unless an event is scheduled. For more information call 435.843.4000.

The Motocross and BMX tracks allow racers of all ages to test their abilities and compete on a variety of challenging courses. Three Motocross tracks are open seasonally for public use daily from 10am until dark. The Main Track is 7/8 mile long, the Beginner ATV Track is 3/8 mile long, and the Peewee Track is 1/4 mile long. The BMX Track is a 1,200 foot long track, and is sanctioned by the American Bicycle Association. The track is open seasonally, and riders of all ages are welcome. When open, the public is welcome to practice daily.

The Oquirrh Mountain Mining Museum is sponsored by Barrick Gold Mines Inc. and Kennecott Utah Copper. The exhibits feature old mines, current mines, and reclamation practices. The museum is open to the public for guided tours by appointment only. An educational mining video is offered during the tour. Donations are accepted.

Three Pavilions are available. The Large Pavilion offers on-site restrooms, concessions, close proximity to parking, electrical hook-ups and lighting, and picnic tables. To reserve the large pavilion, call 435.843.4002. The Aquatic Center Pavilion offers private access to the aquatic center, close proximity to the soccer fields, softball complex, and parking, electrical hook-ups and lighting, and 10-15 tables. To reserve the aquatic center pavilion, call 435.843.4035. The Motocross Pavilion is located east of the Motocross Track, next to a playground and restrooms. It is open to the public daily, and offers a great view of the Motocross Track. Call or check the website for rental prices for any of these pavilions.

The Softball Complex offers four fields, which are open to league play four nights per week. The fields have lighting capabilities for after dark use. Bleachers offer 100 seat capacity, and portable bleachers are available. Concession stands and restrooms are also located at the softball complex. For more information, call 435.843.4010.

The Utah Firefighters Museum houses vintage fire apparatus and a diversity of interpretive displays. It captures the history, dangers, and rewards of the firefighting profession in Utah. Guided tours of this facility are available by appointment only. To schedule a tour call 435.843.4040.

From SLC, head west on I-80, take exit 99 (State Route 138), take a left on Sheep Lane, then look for the complex on the corner of SR 112 and Sheep Lane.
