Discovery Green in Houston, TX 77010

Discovery Green is a vast urban green space in the heart of downtown Houston. The two-acre lawn is perfect for lounging around, having a picnic, and enjoying a great view of the skyline. Discovery Green also features gardens, a playground, a party pavilion, a model boat pond, a one-acre lake, a fenced-in dog park, strolling paths, splash fountains, an amphitheater and outdoor stage, and much more.

The Houston Public Libary's HPL Express location in the park offers indoor and outdoor reading rooms, and is wi-fi accessible.

Restrooms are available on-site. Dining options include The Grove - a fairly upscale restaurant located on the south side of the park, across the street from the Hilton Americas Hotel - and the Lake House, which overlooks the pond on the north side of the park and offers hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, shakes, and sodas in a fast-casual environment.

Parking: Metered parking is available on surrounding streets; meters are free after 6pm, Monday through Saturday, and all day Sunday. An underground parking garage is located directly beneath Discovery Green, and street-level parking lots also surround the park.
