We were very fortunate to hear from a relative of an opening at DiscoveryLand Daycare/Preschool in the Sunset. When we came in for our initial tour the facility was clean and welcoming. Lina introduced us and our daughter Amber to the children and they all looked up and without being coached said hi Amber. Thatâ??s when I knew this place was for us. The children are all very happy, clean, and very outgoing. I can not say enough great things about Lina, Marina, and her staff. The food Lina prepares is fresh and wholesome. Our daughter comes home and goes on an on about her soup she had for lunch how good it is and why canâ??t I make it for her. But of course if I did she would not eat it.. Lina will even send some food home with us knowing of our challenge of getting her to eat her veggies. We are also very happy with the daily lessons from Teacher Marina. One day Amber and I were counting and I stopped at 10 and she kept goingâ?¦We absolutely love when we pick her up and she comes running out with something she created that day with such joy.. My daughter started as the youngest at Discovery Land. Before that we had a nanny coming to house everyday and it was great. But we soon realized that she needed a bigger environment to help her grow. Discovery Land was perfect. Lina and the team are the most passionate people you can meet. They gave my daughter lots of love and attention. At the end of the day, Lina always spends time to talk to me or my husband about how my daughter did that day. She has a lot of tricks that helped me adjust to the different stages of my daughter's growth. My daughter looks forward to going to Lina's every morning and she learns a lot while having fun with the other wonderful friends there.

Our daughter started Discovery Land about a year and a half ago. This was our third attempt to get her transitioned from home to a daycare. And Lina, with her tremendous experience, patience, and love for kids made it all possible. Lina let her gradually get used to the environment, kids, and then slowly transitioned her to classes with new teachers. For the past year and a half, our daughter has grown and developed a lot. Because of Lina’s patience and persistence, she has learned to eat healthy foods (not only mac and cheese). She now eats vegetable soup, and carrots are her favorite snacks. Everyday she comes home with new projects, her new small achievements (learning new letters, new numbers, coloring inside the lines, using different colors, and much more), and of course LOTS of new songs and games. We are very happy we found Lina and her daycare. It has become an integral part of our lives. Lina’s staff, kids and their parents all together feel like a big family.

Discovery land is getting a very well deserved 5 star rating here. My son has been going to this school for almost a year now and he loves this place. Facility is very clean, food is nutritious and organic, projects are plentiful, as is outdoor play in a shaded backyard. Lina and the teachers are very caring and nuturing. My son is only 2 1/2 now, but I have a more difficult time with him when I pick him up from the school because he still wants to continue playing, than when I drop him off in the morning as he's willingly and happily walking in. That's a good sign.

My daughter has been going to discovery land preschool for a year and a half, since she was 2 1/2 years old, and we both love the school. The children at the school always appear to be happy and well-cared for when I drop by. They eat 3 nutritious and organic meals a day that Lena cooks for them. They are cared for by 2 providers for the full day, and an additional teacher comes in during the morning and afternoon for classes-art, music, etc. My daughter loves the classes and the art projects. It is clear that the teachers are spending individual time with her to work on writing her name, simple arithmetic etc. But perhaps the most important reason for me to recommend the school is that I always feel that my daughter is safe there and that the people who watch her care about her and are fond of her. I never worry about her when I am gone at work during the day. I can't recommend the school highly enough and feel so fortunate to have found it.

My daughter has been at Discovery Land Preschool for almost a year now, and the experience has been even better than we could have imagined. Lina and her staff do an outstanding job of running a very loving, clean, and caring preschool. Our daughter really enjoys the classes, and comes home everyday with something new to share with us, whether it be a new song, or an artistic creation. Hot meals are provided as well, which has been a great benefit. The sense of community has been wonderful as well, as we've really gotten to know the staff and the other parents very well over the past year. Discovery Land has been a great experience for our family!

I want to post a strong recommendation for Children's Discovery Land school, located in the Sunset. My son has been attending Children's Discovery Land for over 2 years and he loves it. Lina runs a VERY clean, cute, loving, nurturing school. Things that we love about Lina's school include Tuesday music classes, amazing art projects, caring and creative teachers, clean facilities, warm lunches, and she has a great enclosed play deck in the back yard. Oh, and did I mention how clean her school is? The school is small, 12 students, and it is home-based. The kids who attend are well-behaved, culturally diverse, creative and fun. Lina offers full-time care for working parents, she takes younger kids than the average pre-school and there are 2 classes held each day for all the kids to attend. I can't recommend this school enough. It has been great for our family and it will be great for yours too!

My son started at Discovery Land when he was one year old. He was initially one of the youngest children there, but when he showed interest in the pre-school classes, Lina encouraged him to participate with the older kids. He loves it there and even though it's far from our house we make the drive every morning. The teachers are caring and fun, the school is very clean, the kids are super cute and friendly. We love Discovery Land!

We have been so thrilled with Lina and her staff (Blanca, Ella and Kerstin). Our daughter has been there since she was 5 1/2 months old, and literally jumps out of the car when we get to Discoveryland. Our daughter has developed leaps and bounds over the past 18 months, and I know that Lina and her staff are an integral part of this. From learning to crawl, stand up, walk and now potty training, our daughter has felt supported and loved all the way through. We could not imagine sending her to any other daycare!

My son is 5 1/2 years old. Discovery Land has one of the best foods in SF, and Lina hires very professional teachers to educate our children. She gives them love, warmth,and care. Discovery land that what the parents need.

My little boy has been going to Lina's since he was 5 1/2 months old. I cannot say enough good things about her and the other staff (Stella). They are extremely caring and truly love the kids. Lina cooks great, healthy meals everyday. She has art and music teachers come in every week and the kids have a great outdoor/enclosed play area. My son looks forward to going to Lina's each day putting my mind at ease while I'm at work. I just hope that she has room for my second once the time comes!

My oldest daughter was cared for by Lina from 3 months until she went to Kindergarten. Now my youngest daughter has been with Lina for over 3 years and since she was 4 months old. We live in South SF, but I make the longer commute, so my daughter can go to Lina's familycare. Lina, Jania, and Stella provide lots of love, personal attention, and truly treat the children like family. They provide delicious meals, stimulating activities, and provide preschool/music lessons daily.

My son has been at Discovery Land for 3+ years. Originally, I searched it out because I really wanted him to be in a bilingual daycare. But we have stayed for so long because of all the added care and learning that goes on. All the children who come thru Discovery Land are friendly, fun, curious and caring. We first thought we would move him to a "preschool"; however, he's already learned 90% of the skills and knowledge needed for entrance to kindergarten thru the daily hour-long class for 2+ year olds. Added bonus: the dads are as involved here as the moms.

My daughter was with Lina for 5 years. I couldn't have found a better person to care for her. Maya is almost eight years old now, and we still go back to visit because Lina is so special to her.

We were really concerned about finding someone that could take care of our 3-month old daughter. We talked and visited several places until we happened upon Lina at Discovery Land. Lina is amazing and together with her assistant's Stella and Jania, they give the kids all the love and attention one would hope for their child. Almost all the children their have been there since they were 3-months old and they don't leave until they are 5. That in itself speaks volumes about how great a place this is. It's been 4-months now and our daughter absolutely loves going to daycare and we couldn't be happier!

Lina cared for both of my children from ages 4 months to three years. Lina is extraordinarily committed to managing a loving, supportive, and healthy family day care center. She knows each child intimately and supports the family in their particular childrearing concerns. She used to send her home-made soup home with us when one child was sick!

Our son has been cared for by Lina, Jania and Stella since he was 5.5 months old. These women are some of the most maternal, caring and patient people I have ever met. I trust them completely. They love my son as he was their own. Lina keeps the place spotless. It's bright and cheery. She prepares fresh meals daily, using the best ingredients.
