My children signed up for the cliffhangers & I was told upon signing up that if they needed to ever miss they allow make up classes. Well that was a lie they kept passing poison oak & the flu around to each other & missed 3 classes. Needless to say I called to arrange the make ups & was told no because it would cost to much money to have a instructor there. They don't even instruct they stand off to the side & barely watch them.

I booked my sons 10th birthday party to be held at Slash Park (outside waterpark) and the party to be inside. I was told everything was included in the price. All decorations, gift bags, tableware.....well.......My party was to start at 12noon -3. I recieved a call on my way at 11:40 that the pool was closed. I had an option of recscheduling or using the indoor pool. We opted to have the party first then hopefully the pool would be open seeing my guest were already on their way. When we arrived there was a table with a tablecloth on it, as soon as you walk in the lobby. no balloons, no pirvate room, no decorations. Other guest were using the area . The host didnt know what I had ordered . (which I placed my order the day before like I was told to) so he re took my order. Pizza finallycame at 1;00. I had missing guest that didnt show becasue the pool was closed and thought the party was cancelled. But I still had to pay for these guest even when it wasnt my error. $20 a child x's 4. Everything was very disorganized. Ive had parties at different facilites in the past and never had such a bad experience. The host did try her hardest (being her first day) and her first party. I felt for her because she didn't know much of how everything worked. I felt what I was promised and what I recieved was totally different. Once the kids were able to finally swim outside they enjoyed it up until my guest found poop in the pool and the pool was then closed again. I really felt I should have been compensated for the error. Management was not going to budge on the price, however I had to be the one to compremise from their errors. I would NOT recommend this facility, for a birthday party. They really dont have their business together.

People say that the Y isn't too great when it really is. The lockers get broken into if you don't lock it and that's not their fault it's yours for not locking it. The only reason the parking lot is so far away is because of the amazing outdoor pool. The camp and child care staff are amazing. The life guards try their hardest to make sure no one gets hurt. Every time I go to the YMCA I have an amazing time! It is a great place to take the whole family.

My locker was broken into and my wallet was stolen.The Souyhgate police said there have been other problems.I looked around the locker room and found 4 other broken into lockers.The security there is lax.Do not put anything of value into your locker!!!

I've been searching everywhere for some info on your birthday parties. I've been on the computer for 30 minutes now and can't find anything. But, after the last comment left about the lifeguards being so stern and yelling at the kids for every little thing, I think I changed my mind, anyway, doesn't sound like any fun to me.

Parking is horrible and too far away from the building. Never any spots, the place is overcrowded. They needed to build more fitness space and should've added a second basketball gym. Child care, however is great - and my two children love the sports programs. Staff is friendly and has a warm atmosphere, but the place is just too small for the amount of members that come through.

The facility is gorgeous and state-of-the-art. Upstairs has a running track that circles the entire building, overlooking the swimming pool & gymnasium. The Child Care room is very clean and well staffed. Front desk workers are curteous and very helpful with any questions you may have. The highlight for our family has been the Youth Sports - basketball runs year round and every kid is treated as equal, regardless of talent. One of the most gracious and personable league directors I have ever met makes sure that parents and families are comfortable and assures us that the kids are at a great place to learn. Other sports offered included Floor Hockey, Soccer and T-ball. A wonderful facility filled with great people and staff!

My only problem is the pool area. The lifeguards seem to think that they are police officers and blow their whistle for everything they see. Kids are not allowed to get toys to play with, they can't throw the ball around, and you can't chase each other in the pool. So what can kids do? Seems like a concentration camp pool area with nothing to do. The lifeguards are there to save people and make sure everyone is safe, not keep them from having fun. Enforcing the rules are also subjected to certain people and not everyone. I was there and they enforced a rule on my kid and not the other parent whose kid was doing the same thing. All lifeguards had the same training, so all should be the same in enforcing the same rules. The pool rules and life guard area needs new management or someone to take control and make it a nicer place to have fun, not treat everyone like outsiders.
