about Downtown Tunnel:

Houston's Downtown Tunnel is a series of underground passageways connecting street-level office buildings, hotels, restaurants, and the entertainment venues throughout the Theater District. The Tunnel also leads walkers to several underground food courts, gift shops, boutiques, and the Shops at Houston Center shopping mall.

Discover Houston Tours offers guided walking tours of the Tunnel every Monday through Friday.

tips:

Most of the connected buildings at street level offer large, colorful maps and directional signage on walls.

getting there:

Wells Fargo Plaza, at Louisiana Street and McKinney, is the only building with direct access from the street to the Tunnel. The Tunnel is also accessible through many other buildings' own, interior escalators, elevators, and stairs.
