We were looking for Candy Heaven, and we found it in the
Galleria. At
Dylan's Candy Bar, candy lovers risk getting "scooper's elbow" with more than 300 bins (yes, 300) from which to choose. But that's just the warm-up exercise.
Dylan's also has giant lollipops, over a dozen varieties of Dylan's own
gourmet chocolate bars, and just about any brand of wrapped candy you've been craving. The store even carries endangered species of candy such as Zots and Blackjack Gum.
Pixie-stix lovers can fill their own large, plastic straws (six inches to 34 inches) with any of a dozen or so flavors and colors; M&M lovers can fill their own large bags with any of 20 colors;
Pez lovers have a wall-full of dispensers from which to add to their collections.
The ice cream counter serves scoops, floats, and
more than 20 different kinds of sundaes, and is accompanied by a full-service
espresso bar with hot and cold drinks. Some table seating is available, but restrooms are not.
Gift items include t-shirts, hats, and flip-flops - all in assorted, bright candy colors - as well as pillows that look like giant name-brand candies such as Sweet Tarts, Tootsie Rolls, and Hershey Bars. Ready-made gift baskets are also available.
Party packages are loads of fun - but expensive; call for prices.
