Most full-service Giant Eagle grocery stores offer the Eagle's Nest, a free activity center for children from three to nine years old, for parents who would rather shop uninterrupted by requests from their kids for, well, everything. Eagle's Nest activities vary by store, typically including a mix of crafts, computer, learning toys, and video games. Naturally, a few rules apply. They include: -Children must be toilet trained before being placed in an Eagle's Nest location.
-A photo ID is required when signing a child in and out, and the same person must sign the child(ren) in and out.
-The person who places the child in the Eagle's Nest must remain in the store until the child is picked up. We like what we've seen at the Eagle's Nest locations we've visited; most are clean and staffed with friendly, patient workers, and stocked with enjoyable, working toys.
