Camp Edmo558

Edmo is consistently my son's favorite summer camp. The staffers at Edmo seem highly trained and qualified, and the camper / staffer ratio is low. The staffers are always willing to listen and help. To wake up on an Edmo camp day and have my 6-year-old dressed and excited for camp definitely starts the day on the right note. I also love that I don't have to pack a lunch for him to eat something healthy. Although Edmo is not the most inexpensive summer camp we participate in, I find myself adding more weeks each year. It is very convenient in both hours and location, and my child is always engaged and learns a lot. Since science and art don't get top billing during the school year, I like that we can make up for it in such a fun way over the summer. The most important thing for me about Edmo is that my child just LOVES it, and he's not all that easy to please where summer camps are concerned. I don't know anyone who has tried it and not returned – our prized Edmo buttons are safe where they can remind us of this summer!

We have enrolled Trevor at Camp Edmo in the Presidio campus for 3 summers now and he absolutely loves it. After his first summer at Edmo, Trevor came home and decided to create a Science Museum in our basement (three years later and its only grown). Last summer he came home and said "Mom, next summer all I want to do is Edmo!" because he had so much fun. He couldn't wait to tell me about the games they played, the things they learned, and what he wants to accomplish as a result. It's the type of excitement children should have about learning. I especially appreciate the opportunities that Edmo has given Trevor outside of camp. For example, one year Edmo hosted a "film festival" at the Exploratorium where animation films that the kids did were shown and the children got to walk down "the red carpet". Another year Trevor's animation film was featured at Macworld. These opportunities have made Edmo a completely unique and enriching experience for Trevor and our family.

My son has attended Camp Edmo since his pre-K year. We have been going to the SF location (although we live in the south bay) and are so excited Edmo is offering camp in Cupertino now! The staff is very professional and organized, and since I knew my son was taken care of and enjoying the day, I could get work done. I felt my son was entertained all day long with many different activities â?? educational, social and physical. We still sing the songs from last summer! We love the Edmo Vibe that my son carries with him throughout the year (yes, including the â??AWESOMEâ?? song).

Camp Edmo was better than we ever could have imagined. During the school year, my son comes home and refuses to tell me anything about what he did during the day. But when he came home from Camp Edmo, he would tell me all about the different activities, what Coco the Monkey did that day, what the counselors did, and sing some of the cheers he learned. And then I'd find him in his room later applying what he learned in camp – putting together a Spy Sheet, etc. His engagement helped us to engage with each other, which for me, as a mother working full-time, is absolutely priceless. I felt like it wasn't just a wonderful experience for him but a wonderful experience for the entire family. We also had an incredible experience with the staff after my son had a behavioral problem. The Camp Director was so understanding, and happily took my suggestions for how we help him during school. I would just say that Camp Edmo offers a very unique experience. It made me feel so good seeing him jump out of bed every morning, and took the sting out of having to work all summer. The way Cash's experiences helped us all to connect in the evenings was priceless.

This was our first year at Camp Edmo and my kids LOVED it. From the very first day, they were grinning ear to ear when I picked them up. They had so much fun. It's been several weeks since they were at Edmo but they're still singing all of the Edmo songs! Camp Edmo is extremely self-contained, which felt safe to me â?? a huge bonus. It was also right in our neighborhood - drop off and pick up were very easy. The counselor-to-child ratio is also very strong. My children were rewarded for kindness and helpfulness - two values I am working to instill in them. My kids (one, especially) can be kind of wiggy about new things and his transition into Camp Edmo was swift and easy. They can't wait to return next summer!

Our kids just love Edmo. They probably think that they love the fun part, and I love the learning part. (In truth, I also love that they're having fun.) I am a bit of a nut about safety, and I have never remotely had any kind of concern about Edmo. I love that the kids are well cared for by trained and skilled staff, we're able to purchase organic lunches from Kid Chow, and Edmo's location are at campuses we're familiar with. Last year, my son was so enthusiastic about the animation session he attended that he was inspired to make many a film during the year on his own. We were so impressed with the skills that he gained, and what he was able to create. Attending multiple weeks definitely makes a difference with pricing! We drop excited and enthusiastic kids off in the morning and pick up happy and inspired kids in the afternoon ... what more could we ask for?

My son went to the Noe Valley Program in 2009. Fantastic camp. He had not yet started kindergarten and was a little nervous at first, but waved cheerfully goodbye on the very first day with the loving support of the staff. Totally comfortable by the end of the first day. He _never_ wanted to leave. Even on the days when i could have picked him up early- he insisted on staying until everyone went home. It was the full camp experience- singing, chants, games, friends and fantastic projects- not just crafts, but engaging, thoughtful, integrated science and art. I dropped off an eager child and picked up a boy brimming with news about his day. The staff was warm, and made my son feel welcome and special each and every day. We opted for the organic lunch program- very easy and according to my son, tasty as well. He is looking forward to this year!!

My daughter and niece both loved Edventure More the first year they attended (first year the camp was operating, kids were 6 and 7-1/2), and so did we. Great activities, responsive staff. The second year we noticed a real drop-off in quality. The kids were not as engaged, the staff not as responsive. Perhaps the program was too similar for the kids, but the staffing decline was a real disappointment. Perhaps they grew too quickly? We didn't return last year.
