about Edward M. Hatch Memorial Shell (Hatch Shell):

There's no better place to be in the spring and summer than the Hatch Shell. It's where it all happens on sultry nights in Boston. Bring a picnic, fly a kite, or simply take in the river view.

From the Boston Pops to cultural events, walk-a-thons, and outdoor Friday night movies, the Hatch Shell is all about Bostonians getting together. It's also the place to be on the 4th of July.

The bathrooms at the Shell are reasonably clean, and you'll find a snack bar with tables and a good selection of food, looking out onto the water.

tips:

The Friday night flicks are a blast; the films are usually kid-friendly, but we recommend you call ahead or check our Calendar to be sure. Bring a blanket and some food and have a picnic.
