about Edward M. Hatch Memorial Shell (Hatch Shell):
There's no better place to be in the spring and summer than the Hatch Shell. It's where it all happens on sultry nights in Boston. Bring a picnic, fly a kite, or simply take in the river view.
From the Boston Pops to cultural events, walk-a-thons, and outdoor Friday night movies, the Hatch Shell is all about Bostonians getting together. It's also the place to be on the 4th of July.
The bathrooms at the Shell are reasonably clean, and you'll find a snack bar with tables and a good selection of food, looking out onto the water.
The Friday night flicks are a blast; the films are usually kid-friendly, but we recommend you call ahead or check our Calendar to be sure. Bring a blanket and some food and have a picnic.
There is no parking near the Hatch Shell. You can park on the street in Beacon Hill but non-resident parking is scarce. Your best bet is to take public transportation. Green line to Arlington St. Walk down Arlington past Bonpoint toward Beacon St.
Cross Beacon St. You will see the Arthur Fiedler Walkway in front of you. Walk across and the Hatch Shell will be on your right.
