Elizabeth Park began as a 162-acre family estate that was bequeathed to the Wayne County Park Trustees in 1919, becoming the first county park in the state of Michigan. The park sits along the banks of the Detroit River and features more than 1,300 feet of riverwalk for fishing and strolling.
Other park activities include softball, cycling, hiking, in-line skating, cross-country skiing, and ice skating, as well as a full marina and boat launch.
