The Enchanted Forest Sanctuary is a 470-acre primitive wildlife sanctuary encompassing five Florida habitats: oak scrub, mesic and hydric hammock, wet prairie, and pine flatwood.
Wildlife is abundant, and hikers can see species including gopher tortoises, Florida scrub lizards, white-tailed deer, Eastern indigo snakes, and even the elusive bobcat.
The site's Management & Education Center features educational exhibits, classrooms, a reference library, outdoor amphitheater, and a gift shop. The nearby interpretive nature trail features a stabilized surface for complete accessibility.
Those interested in conservation and volunteerism can also become active with the non-profit volunteer organization, Friends of the Enchanted Forest.
