Ernie Miller Park in Olathe, KS 66061

The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best park for big kids in Kansas City, the 116-acre Ernie Miller Park features diverse habitats - a tall grass prairie, meadows, forest, and a stream. Winding through this beauty are three miles of hiking trails, including a 1/4 mile paved nature trail. The park also has an 80-seat outdoor amphitheater. Ernie Miller also is home to the Ernie Miller Nature Center. The nature center provides year-round programming for all ages, birthday party space and programs, wildlife displays, and a gift shop. An Outdoor Discovery Camp is located at the park during the summer.
