tips:
Group tours and open houses are offered in fall and spring.
Our child is a third generation member of this extraordinary community. The school allows the best to emerge from the students and the results are happy children, involved parents and exrtaordinary graduates who contribute to a better world. Our child loves going to school and we have quickly formed wonderful friendships with a group of very special parents.
We have two children at EC. We were attracted to this school because if offers a progressive education (i.e., lets children develop at their rate, encourages children to develop their particular interests, etc.) and because, in lieu of religious instruction, it offers classes in ethics. Overall we are happy with the school, but there is --as probably is true of most schools--room for improvement. In particular, we're not sure the administration (although teachers are excellent) is as top-notch as it should be. Its commitment to diversity could definitely be stronger. On the plus side, the arts program and its teaching of the language arts are arguably the best around.
