Wow- I wish I had read these reviews from host families before I signed up with this outfit! I have had au pairs from aupaircare for 4 years and decided to save some of the agency fees (about 700$ less) by using Expert Aupair. My current au pair from Germany flamed out on me - this is the first time this has happened, but that's what the agency is for Riiiight? First, let me say that I called, spoke with Kathy and she ran down the process, pro-rating a new au pairs fees as they had noone in rematch. They would have to get a new one in country - best case on that is three weeks so she would get that going right away and send me profiles... I spoke with the au pair - she is a German, dishonest, and unreliable. Nothing really surprises me as this is my 5th au pair, but this one wasn't going to get it together. I called Expertaupair back, emailed them about the situation and .... NOTHING!! Been calling/emailing for A WEEK! I could go on about the au pair - but she's 19 and hopeless. It's the agency that needs to stand up to their agreement. I am awaiting my hostile call from Mark the agency owner - but the phone isn't ringing! If anyone has figured out the best legal recourse for these agencies, please advise... Is there no way to give ZERO stars here?

I used to be an au pair under Expert Aupair. I want to caution any families who want to join this programme. As this agency's priority is British and English speaking countries' au pair, they donot give an equal concern or judgement to other au pairs especially unwhite having conflict with host families.
Racisism is felt strongly by me from the CEO who is a British.

Expert Au Pair Agency was rated Number Two in our Top Three Au Pair Agency Picks for 2009. There are always some exceptions for any agency and any host parent can have a bad experience. However, overall the majority of host parents that participated in our survey rated Expert Au Pair as "excellent" across two main categories: customer service and screening of au pairs.

We have had terrible experience with this agency! They have been dishonest with us from the beggining and never cared about any issue or concern we had with the au-pair. The 1st one didn't care to do anything and we had to clean up after her, she was hopeless and co-dependent. We were happy she left the next day after she told us she didn't know what to do in her life so she tried this and it isn't what she wants... The next one said she felt like a servant because my husband asked her to help out with dishes after dinner he cooked for her every day, we found later she encouraged our school age son to urinate in a diaper and laughed hard as he was doing it... while we were struggling and asking this agency to help us they never called or attempted to do anything to solve this situation and then after two weeks we got 1 day notice from the 2nd au-pair saying she wanted to stay with us and work things out but the agency told her she must leave... we were left with no child care and hostile phone calls from the owner of the agency wanting us to continue paying for childcare they never provided us with! Nothing but an awful experience!
