I attended the Little Mermaid show today with my 3 year old daughter. I've been to a bunch of musical shows with her and I've got to say this was the absolute best show we've been to. This original musical took enough of the classic story for kids to follow along and put a greek mythology treatment on it (eg. Zeus, Poseidon, Perseus instead of Eric, Medusa instead of Ursula). The singing was clear and understandable for the kids, and there was a lot of truly funny dialogue for adults that went over the heads of the kids but didn't bother them. Inventive costumes, staging, and aftershow program-signing (which I know is expected - but these actors actually were enthusiastic about it). Plus, they even had buttons that you could buy that had each of the characters on them. We'll definitely be going back, even though it's a ways from the South Bay.
