Family Grounds is a haven for parents and kids alike. In addition to yummy cafe fare and free wifi, the cafe has a 1,500 square foot indoor playspace for kids (with a victorian playhouse and pretend marketplace, a performance stage, train table, construction zone, and arts and crafts galore) and a common space where families can congregate. The play area can be rented for birthday parties.
tips:
Free, indoor stroller parking is available. Family Grounds Cafe also offers customers a free parking lot directly in front of the cafe.
getting there:
By EL, take the Brown Line to the Addison stop. Take the Lincoln Avenue exit stairs and walk right into the parking lot. Those with strollers should exit on Addison, head east toward Lincoln Avenue, then turn north. Walk one block to the Patterson/Brown Line exit stairs. Family Grounds Cafe has blue awnings and sits on the customer parking lot.
