The Farmers Branch Historical Park is located on 22 acres and traces the heritage of the city from the 1840s to the 1940s.
The Gilbert House is the oldest rock structure in Dallas County that is still on its original foundation. Other structures in the park include the 1937 Dodson House, home of the first Mayor of Farmers Branch; a one-room schoolhouse from the early 1900s; and the original Farmers Branch railroad depot, built in 1877.
Shaded picnic areas provide a nice respite for lunch.
Tours of the park are free and available by appointment.
The park is closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
