Set on 244 acres in the middle of Broward County, the land for Fern Forest Nature Center was purchased in 1978 as a Designated Urban Wilderness Site. Facilities include a visitor center, Cypress Boardwalk and Prairie Overlook Trail, and an arboretum.

getting there:
Take I-95 to Atlantic Blvd. exit and head west. Turn left on Lyons Road. The entrance to the nature center is on the right side. The park can also be accessed by taking the Turnpike north to Atlantic Blvd., then west to Lyons Rd.
