The nonprofit
Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center (TRC) provides education and therapy-based equine programs for people with disabilities, and is a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). With 36 horses, stalls, an indoor arena, and trails for riding,
Fieldstone Farm TRC serves more than 800 students annually with the help of more than 500 volunteers. Equine therapy involves horse-related activities uniquely designed for people with cognitive, physical, emotional and social disabilities. Students of all ages learn horseback riding skills and basic horse care while receiving other benefits, including improved balance, mobility, muscle tone, coordination and posture, enhanced independence and increased concentration and self-esteem.
Volunteer opportunities are open year round for teens and adults (ages 14 and up). Volunteers may offer mounted lesson assistance, ground lesson assistance, office assistance, and help with special events. To volunteer or for more information about volunteering, contact
