about Fort Worth Public Library: Central:

The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best library in Dallas-Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Central Library boasts many different amenities for inquiring young minds.

The teen center can be found on the lower level; upstairs on the Plaza level, little ones can visit the Hazel Harvey Peace Youth Center. Be sure to try out the "Go figure!" math puzzles, found at the puzzle tables. These sets of manipulatives aid in teaching basic math skills, such as sorting, patterning, color, and size recognition.

Several notable collections have found a home in this central library, including Mrs. Charles Reimers' collection of rare children's books, an American Girl doll collection, and a collection of Beatix Potter ornaments and books.

The library hosts storytimes; call or visit the website for the current schedule.

getting there:

The Central Library is located in downtown Fort Worth at the intersection of 3rd and Lamar, 2 blocks west and 2 blocks south of the Tarrant County Courthouse. The Central Library is served by bus routes 1, 4, 10, and 46.
