- Living new Austin, making the trek to the Fort Worth Zoo is an all-day event. I would say it's worth it, but there were both positives and negatives. The primate exhibit is worth the price of admission - it's very impressive and both my daughters loved it. The aquarium exhibits were a pretty big let-down. On the up side we did save some money off admission using Zoo Coupons (recommended!) which made the sting that much easier to swallow. Overall I would recommend this zoo, but not over the Dallas option.

[Submitted by Eric1/28/10 - We adore this zoo. It's reasonably inexpensive, rarely packed unless it's a special event, clean, and the animals seem cared about and not just victims in someone's money making scheme. We go every few months or so, especially during the cooler times of the year(it's pretty much always open!). Love love love it.

[Submitted by Rachel9/25/08 - Recently I visited the zoo during the summer. I was very impressed by how cool it was despite the hot texas heat. They had misters around, a place to pour water on your head, lots of cool indoor places, and you were rarely out of the shade. I found it very comfortable to be outside in texas. Although, we did need water especially for the kids. Their bottled water was expensive. I wish we would have brought our own. I was very impressed with how this zoo handled the texas heat and their selection of attractions was great. We spent about three hours there and got to see most, but we had to rush. This zoo was very impressive and would recommend it to anyone.
