Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is more than just another zoo. This 1800-acre spread is the home to wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, Mexican gray wolf, black rhino, and more. Families can take in all the nature and scenery from the comfort of their own vehicles, while most of the animals at Fossil Rim are free to roam on the savannas and juniper-oak woodlands. Guided tours are also available.
Halfway along the drive, stop off for a meal at the Overlook Cafe, with scenic views over Chalk Mountain. The nature store has gifts and souvenirs.
Fossil Rim also has accommodations for overnight stays. Rooms are availalbe in the bed and breakfast lodge, as well as in tented cabins with private baths, central air and heating, and other amenities.

getting there:
Located about one hour southwest of Forth Worth, and 1-1/2 hours from Dallas. Approximately three miles west of Glen Rose, turn left on County Road 2008.
