about Franklin Park:

Franklin Park, with its 500 acres of land, is the largest park in the Emerald Necklace. Famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead's design of Franklin Park is similar to New York's Central Park and Prospect Park, which he also designed.

Within the park are the Franklin Park Zoo, the 18-hole Franklin Park golf course, 100 acres of woodlands, and a seven-acre pond. The Golf Clubhouse, on Franklin Park Road, has a grill and sandwich cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and alcoholic beverages.

Many special events are held in the northern meadow, or the Playstead (located between White Stadium and the rear entrance of the Franklin Park Zoo).
