About Free Fourth of July Events (2009)
Looking for free July 4th events in your community? We've got listings for Independence Day celebrations and fireworks shows happening all over the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Families can get a head start on the holiday at the Allen USA Celebration, which takes place one week early, as it does every year.
The annual Fair Park Fourth moves to the Cotton Bowl this year and still features fireworks, live music, free museum admission, and plenty of kids' activities.
Addison's annual Kaboom Town celebration on July 3 features fireworks, live music, children's activities, and a free outdoor movie screening.
The celebration at Farmers Branch Historical Park also takes place on July 3.
Fort Worth's Fourth on the Trinity River features live music, trolley rides, activities, and fireworks.
Families with little ones might want to bring a picnic during the daytime to enjoy Dallas Heritage Village's old-fashioned Independence Day celebration (free with paid admission).
Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville invites kids to decorate their tricycles, wagons, and strollers and then join the indoor Stars and Stripes Parade in the morning.
Downtown Arlington hosts its annual parade in the morning.
The Fort Worth Symphony performs patriotic songs, followed by a fireworks spectacular, at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. (This is a ticketed event, but lawn seating for kids ages 10 and under is free.)
The Frisco Freedom Fest features free live music performances, fireworks, bounce houses, and much more.
Families can enjoy Plano's fireworks show at Oak Point Park.
Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie invites families to its Lone Stars & Stripes Celebration on July 3-4, featuring fireworks and a whole slew of kids' activities (free with paid admission).
