about Halloween Kids' Events around LA :

LA gets into the Halloween spirit in a big way! Check LA's Halloween Kids' Guide for this year's up-to-the-minute Halloween activities. The list of Halloween kids' events and activities below usually recurs annually.

Pumpkin Patches:

Some of our favorite annual patches are
Cottone & Sons
Faulkner Farms
Forneris Farms
Irvine Regional Park
Johnson Brothers
Lombardi Ranch
Lopez Pumpkin Patch
McGrath Street Pumpkin Patch
Mr. Bones
Pa's Pumpkin Patch
Pacific Palisades YMCA Pumpkin Patch
Pierce College
The Pumpkin Factory
Santa Fe Dam
Shawn's Pumpkin Patch
Tanaka Farms
Tapia Bros.
Toluca Lake Haunted Pumpkin Patch
Underwood Farms

The Fillmore & Western Railway Pumpkinliner rolls down the track periodically to a distant pumpkin patch, where pumpkins start at $1, and there are also great pumpkin deals to be had at the annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival, the third weekend in October, and at the Kidspace Pumpkin Festival.

Halloween Happenings:

Some of the Southland amusement parks get a big corner of the action, including Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party at Disneyland, Knott's Scary Farm, and the Berry Farm's less scary alternative Camp Spooky. Older kids who like a good scare can find it at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights or Magic Mountain's Fright Fest.

Some spooky trains that do the rounds at this time of year include the Headless Horseman Dinner Train and Ghost Walk Train, featuring a family holiday mystery on board, and the much smaller Ghost Train at LA Live Steamers.

The macabre blends seamlessly with the jovial at events like Orange County's Trick or Treat Festival and Halloween Hearse Show and Hollywood Forever Cemetery's Day of the Dead celebration - or with the downright bizarre, like watching tigers attack pumpkins at Boo at the Zoo.

Other annual Halloween events range from the wholesome Goblins in the Garden at The Arboretum or Scarium of the Pacific at the Aquarium of the Pacific, to the super scary Dark Harbor on the Queen Mary or Old Town Haunt Pasadena. And speaking of super scary, don't forget the Haunted Hayride in Griffith Park!
