It's an awful lot of history for kids (even older ones) to take in. Consider hitting just a couple of the more exciting spots, like Faneuil Hall, since the marketplace is there, the USS Constitution, Paul Revere's House in the North End (lots of good food!) and the Boston Common.

We are new to the East coast from Arizona, so for us we are excited to be able to travel three hours and be any where more exciting than Phoenix. For my husband and I, walking the Freedom trail was very interesting for us. These places have just been stories in a history book for us so actually seeing them was very exciting for us. Our children are 3 1/2 and 1 so needless to say they didn't understand what we were visiting. I do have to say they were very, VERY good sports about the whole thing. They really enjoyed being outside. We ended the day in the Public Park and let our kids run and play since they had been sitting the majority of the day. They did sleep really good that night!!
