The Freestone Railroad Park in the southeast Valley features a replica 1880s engine with three coaches. Train passengers will enjoy the scenic 3/4-mile route around the park and its lakes, play areas, and amphitheater.
Other rides include the Allan Herschell antique carousel, mini Ferris Wheel and pretend Wave Runner. All rides have height restrictions and are designed for younger children. Children under 42" must be accompanied by a paying adult on the train and carousel.
There is no admission fee to enter the park. Guests may purchase single ride tickets, or buy a money-saving book of 20 tickets. The train ride requires three tickets; remaining rides cost two tickets per person. A variety of birthday party packages are also available.
Guests may purchase refreshments at the Depot Snack Bar or bring their own lunch to enjoy at one of the park's picnic ramadas.
Other park amenities include a softball complex, two lakes with ducks and fishing, soccer fields, playground, batting cages, and volleyball courts. A 22,000 square foot skate park offers free, non-supervised skating to visitors.
The Freestone Recreation Center features a double gymnasium, racquetball courts, aerobic rooms, weighlifting room, game room, elevated running track, and climbing wall.
