Archibald Gardner built the Old Gardner Flour Mill in 1877, and now it's been restored into
Gardner Village. What was once the mill is now
Archibald's Restaurant and Country Furniture & Gifts. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic homes surrounding the mill are now quaint shops. In the Village, you can take a stroll and admire the beautiful flowers, visit some of the 22 shops, dine at the restaurant or bakery, and feed the ducks.
Sweet Afton's candy shop offers free fudge samples; over 30 flavors of fudge are made here, with 14-18 on display at any given time. Old classics like wax lips, fizz, and Sen-Sens will take you down memory lane and make this candy store as much fun for you as your kids.
To satisfy your hunger, grab a bite at the full service deli
Naborhood Bakery, famous for its frozen rolls.
Barnyard Buddies, a small
petting zoo, is located in the lot just west of Archibald's Restaurant. It is open throughout the spring, summer, and fall months, and offers pony rides.
Protea Cottage is located just north of the old flour mill. The tea shop hosts fun
tea parties for both young and old. Tea parties for little girls include party dress dress-ups and an etiquette lesson.
