Garfield Park Reservation, a Cleveland Metroparks property, boasts plenty of options for active families. The park has paved trails for strollers, bikers, and in-line skaters, picnic shelters, a nature center with a wildlife garden, a small playground, and - in the middle of it all - six quiet nature trails.
While here, visit the nature center on the park's east side. A 9-foot-tall "Bee Tree" allows kids to watch an actual beehive's inner workings. Plus, educational programs are held all year long.

getting there:
Exit I-480 at Broadway Avenue. Go north on Broadway about four miles. Turn left onto Park Boulevard, just north of the Henry Street intersection. Turn left again onto Mill Creek Lane to reach the nature center. To start the Solar System Walk, turn left from Garfield Park Boulevard onto Wolf Creek Lane to Trolley Turn picnic area, approximately one mile west of the Broadway Avenue entrance.
