The George M. Sullivan Arena is an 8,700-seat arena that opened in 1983 and has since been a mainstay in Anchorage's entertainment scene. The Arena houses the Sullivan Arena Box Office, a Ticketmaster outlet.
The Sullivan Arena is designed to be a multi-use facility, complete with an Olympic-size ice rink, with an insulated floor covering for basketball, concerts, and trade shows. Total square footage with all telescoping seats retracted is approximately 32,000 square feet.
As the home of the ECHL's Alaska Aces and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves, Sullivan Arena provides top quality hockey entertainment to thousands of fans every year.
The Sullivan Arena also hosts the nation's premier NCAA Thanksgiving basketball tournament - The Carrs / Safeway Great Alaska Shootout. The Shootout features the country?s best NCAA women's and men's basketball teams.
Most recently, Sullivan Arena became home to the Alaska Wild of the Intense Football League.
