Giorgio's was made for families - big, loud, hungry ones. This inner Richmond pizzeria, located in the midst of bustling Clement Street, has formica table tops, a juke box, and a thin, blistered pizza crust with all the classic toppings. It's dark, the decor uninspired, and the salads ordinary - heavy on iceburg and grated cheese. But
service is quick, friendly, and easy-going, and little ones love the raw pizza dough they're offered to help pass the time while waiting. Wednesday nights boast the Kids-Make-Their-Own-Pizza Happy Hour from 4pm-6pm. Young ones fix their own mini-pizza at a station in the back of the restaurant.
Giorgio's doesn't take reservations, but turnover is quick. Afterwards, walk up Clement Street to the
Toy Boat Dessert Cafe for ice cream (lattes for the grown-ups), and finish up by browsing through Green Apple Books & Music (506 Clement) for some good used books.
