Girls Rock Philly Rock 'n' Roll Summer Camp050

Girls Rock Philly (GRP), Philadelphia's only rock camp for girls, offers week-long summer day programs for kids ages 9 to 17. The program emphasizes artistic independence and creative ownership in a comfortable and supportive female-only environment. No musical experience is necessary; all equipment and instruments are provided.

GRP camp sessions, held on the campus of Girard College, are led by a team of all female instructors and band coaches who provide instruction in guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, vocals, and DJ technique. During the week, campers form bands and write their own songs, enjoy performances by special guest artists, and participate in guided band practice and diverse workshops with topics such as the history of women in music, non-traditional instruments, sound and recording, and band art. Camp sessions culminate with a public performance showcase on the last day of the program.

Financial assistance and full scholarships are available to those demonstrating need. Camp applications, available online, must be mailed to Girls Rock Philly, PO Box 1512, Philadelphia, PA, 19105, and postmarked by June 15.
