about Girls Softball League:

The San Francisco Recreation & Park Department, Police Department, and Fire Department sponsor a free softball program for girls in the summer (June-August). You may play even if you don't have a team. The Rec Department will assign your child to one that practices close to where you live. You then contact the coach to discuss the play and practice schedule.
