Glassworks is a working glass-making studio that offers tours and classes - usually for kids ages seven and older.
Walk-in-Workshops are offered daily, and include an extensive variety of cold and warm working glass craft activities and projects, including painting, etching, stained glass, mosaic, fusing, slumping, and casting. Projects range in price from $10 to $45.
Birthday parties can be held on the premises. Partiers bring their own cake and ice cream; Glassworks provides the activity. Clean up is included.
Tours take about an hour and include stops at the innovative cold-working/warm-working studio that was founded in 1875, the Payton Flameworks - where visitors can watch the artists sculpt with glass using an oxygen/propane torch - and Glassworks/Hyland Glass Hot Shop, where visitors learn about the process and watch artists blow glass in its molten state.
