The 12,000 acres of Golden Gate Canyon State Park includes miles upon miles of mountain trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, plus 155 campsites spread among dense forest, rocky peaks and aspen-filled meadows.
The glorious autumn colors and spectacular views from the famous Panorama Point of over 100 miles of the Continental Divide make the park ideal for sightseers and photographers. The Park is also a great place for young anglers and fall color viewing.
While visiting the park, inquire about borrowing a Family Activity Pack during your visit. The packs help turn an ordinary hike into a learning adventure in nature with two large bug boxes, magnifiers, various guide books (covering birds, insects, wildflowers, and pond or tree life), binoculars, and a nature journal.
