Hop onto the the
Grapevine Vintage Railroad's Steam Locomotive No. 2248, affectionately known as Puffy, and take a trip back in time (if only for an hour or so). Built in 1896, the
Grapevine Vintage Railroad offers two routes from which to choose.
The
Cotton Belt Route begins and ends at the Grapevine Railroad Station, linking the historic communities of Grapevine, Colleyville, Smithfield, and Fort Worth's historic Stockyards.
The
Trinity River Route begins and ends in the historic Stockyards, offering passengers an opportunity to take in the sights, sounds, and tastes of Cowtown. Heading south for a 10-mile trek along the famous Chisholm Trail, and traveling along the eastern edge of downtown Fort Worth, the ride affords spectacular views of the skyline. The one-hour ride goes through
Trinity Park near Fort Worth's Cultural District.
Birthday parties on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad are a popular venue choice. Whether you choose to travel round-trip or just one-way, the $14.50 per child price includes a
private, roped-off section of the train for the party, a hotdog pack that includes hotdog, chips, and drink, and a chance for photo ops in the cab with the engineer before leaving the depot. Cake can be brought along and served at the Stockyards stop, but due to the need to preserve the integrity of the interior of the train, no food may be consumed on board. The birthday party packages are only available for kids ages 12 months and up.
