About Great Highway Path

This 2 1/2-mile pathway running along the residential side of the Great Highway is perfect for young bikers because the traffic is one significant shoulder removed. Double back, and you've had a decent trip. All the while you can view the surfers climbing the waves just across the street. The only danger for wobbly riders on weekends is careering into the joggers clogging the path.

Tips

Start your ride in Golden Gate Park and make getting to the ocean the goal.

Getting There

Travel north on Lincoln Way. The path starts on your left just before the road meets the Great Highway. Parking is available across the street in the lot lining Ocean Beach.
