about Green Spring Gardens Park:

Green Spring Gardens Park is a 27-acre park that advances the awareness and practice of gardening in Metropolitan Washington, DC. Visitors are invited to stroll through five acres of gardens - including a wooded stream valley with ponds, a naturalistic native plant garden, over 20 thematic demonstration gardens, and a greenhouse filled with tropicals; enjoy educational programs in the 18th century manor house; attend classes in the visitor center; or research gardening questions in the horticultural library.

The Park offers a number of popular programs for children. Garden Sprouts classes, for ages three to five, include stories, walks, activities, and crafts. Families need to sign up for a whole series, so be sure to check Green Spring's website for a list. Family Fun Programs are for ages six and up (with accompanying adult) and feature stories, lessons, activities, crafts, and other outdoor exploration. (You'll find these on our calendar!)

tips:

The park offers special classes just for brownies and girl scouts.
