about Greenbelt Nature Center and Park:

Most of the Greenbelt is New York City park land, featuring natural areas as well as traditional parks. LaTourette, Willowbrook, and High Rock parks dot the Greenbelt's perimeter.

Visitors can enjoy golf, archery, baseball, hiking, birdwatching in the W.T. Davis Wildlife Refuge, and carousel rides in Willowbrook Park.

Stop in to the Greenbelt Nature Center to pick up a trail map, sign up for programs and activities, speak with a Greenbelt representative, or just relax and enjoy the beautiful wooded grounds.

The Greenbelt Conservancy also hosts environmental education programs, summer camp sessions, and special events and concerts throughout the year.

The Greenbelt's Education Department, in operation for more than 30 years, offers Nature Center birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays. Recommended for young naturalists ages four and up, the price is $15 per child (10 child minimum; 15 child maximum) and includes one hour of activities centered around the chosen theme and one hour of celebration. You supply the cake - pizza ($15/pie plus juice or soda) can be ordered, or you can bring your own. Educational party themes include Rugged Reptiles, Woodland Wonderland, Flying Fun, Furry Fuzzy Friends, and A Present from the Past.
