All aboard the
Griffith Park & Southern Railroad for a trip through
Griffith Park!
This train has bench-like seats in kid-sized cars just about big enough for two people to sit side-by-side and watch the sights go chugging by. Tickets are sold at the
Los Feliz Passenger Station, and passengers board the train with the help of a friendly conductor, who drives them past the
Griffith Park Pony Rides, through a lovely green wooded area and over a small creek - watch out for squirrels!
Children can look for soon-familiar landmarks all along the one-and-a-half mile train route: the goats and llamas, Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs; the 'ghost town', the 'Indian Village', and the raccoon family.
The ride is designed to please
small children, and it does; most want to go over and over again!
Park and train lovers have long dreamed of connecting the
Griffith Park and Southern Railroad with the
Travel Town trains on the other side of the Park, but in the meantime, the two beloved rides have to be enjoyed separately, and they are!
