atmosphere in this store is so bright,colorful,and relaxing. also very friendly

Gumbo has a wonderful selection of NON-BATTERY OPERATED toys -- that do not beep or light up. Things that stimulate kids' imaginations. The toys I got for my twins at Gumbo are the ones they continually go back to -- a wooden mailbox filled with wooden "postcards" with funny messages on them and stamps that afix with velcro, unique puzzles galore, muical insturments. When people come over with their kids they always ask me where I get this stuff. I am glad that Target and Atlantic Center are nearby when I need almost anything else -- but for toys I always go first to Gumbo and gladly support a local business that deserves to do well.

We've loved going to the store for music classes with Joanne and sometimes Bonga. We've found Karen and the store to be totally welcoming to our 2-year-old.

The music with Bonga was fabulous. He his able to engage the children and is very encouraging and fun. Gumbo is a gift shop that has a lot of expensive kid and adult stuff; it is not kid-friendly.

The owner, Karen, is so helpful and dynamic you'll want to spend all day at Gumbo! Gumbo boasts a nece selection of baby and small children's clothing and accessories. They are also host to a number of Drop In classes. All around - a GREAT place!
