Hair Fairies has a safe and effective system for killing lice. The only thing I regret is not bringing my daughter, 14 at the time, to Hair Fairies when I first found it. This was last year. I thought I could treat it myself with Nix. I did not want to spend 95 dollars an hour. Big mistake. I thought it was gone when it was NOT so when I finally brought her to Hair Faires she was pretty infested. As a matter of fact this was one of their worse cases. Long story short they got rid of it and I'm so thankful because the next step would have been my daughter's bald head. And maybe myself and her sister too because she gave it to all of us. We all had to be treated. I just can't thank them enough. Hair Fairies works. Recently, my other daughter got lice and I went straight to Hair Faires! Now, after 4 visits, it's gone. Do not believe any of the bad reviews you read here because I have been there. It's not a posh place nor is it dirty. Yes, they recommend you buy their products to use in between treatments and they are not cheap nor is their service. But it was worth every penny to me! I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I thought this place was FANTASTIC and I am thrilled to have found them through a Google search! They were professional, kind, very informative and really good with the kids. I love that their products are natural and non-toxic. I think it is extremely important to not put insecticides directly onto young children in any circumstance. The 'Fairies' made the entire process simple and not the huge ordeal that so many claim it to be. They were even very flexible in working with the family schedule so we could keep within the 'guarantee' time frame. I'm happy to pay them to do the tedious work of picking everything out. It gave my family peace of mind that a thorough job was being done. The salon is comfortable and we felt very at home. The location is discreet, tucked away, and there are NO huge signs on the street advertising what they do. I would highly recommend them to anyone dealing with head lice.

Hair Fairies got rid of the lice problem within my family and that is what matters. For people that are reading these reviews, read with a critical eye. Many of the nastiest reviews tend to be followed up by an advertisement for alternative lice removal locations. I can't give any comments on any other lice removal salon's abilities, but I can point out that they are using dishonest, low blows to denounce competitors in order to gain business, and that is not cool. Hair Fairies did the dirty work and ended my lice fiasco. Staff was kind and informative. I recommend them, but more than that, I recommend that everybody read these reviews carefully.

Rude, unresponsive staff that is trained to milk as much money off of you as possible. I was charged $95 dollars for one of them to spend ten minutes checking my hair to see if I was infected or not. Fully treating an infected child with shoulder length hair will cost you at least $600. As for the famous guarantee, they will latch on any and every possible excuse to welch out of it. If you do go, DO NOT buy the $100 worth of products they will try to sell you. Check with your pediatrician who will tell you it's all worthless. As a matter of fact, check with your pediatrician before you bother to go.

All I can say is eeewwwww!!! The place is such a rip off. $500 per kid plus they push all their products on you. All the mothers I know who have had to deal with head lice (myself included) can testify that you can do the same thing at home for about 15 bucks. The place is very pretentious and the help is extremely rude. The decor is very plush; you can see where your dollars go. There is no parking and the meter maids are out in force.

For SF location - they answer the phone non-stop while they work on your hair but charge $23/15minutes (hour and a half minimum - $90 for just a check to see if you have lice!). My kids were exposed to a couple disgruntled customer calls while work was being done. They slip a full line of products you don't need in a bag and charge you big time ($100 for products that seem to be little other than scent in a basic bottle of soap for $20). It was outrageous but worth it frankly to get it done by someone else. I quickly was able to figure out that anyone could do this at home, however. We had a second incident and used another company (found them through the school). They were much better.
