After my daughter got lice I spent MANY hours combing through her long hair strand by strand with an over-the-counter product. I'm pretty detail oriented, but this is clearly not my calling . . . I took her into Hair Faires a few days later and they found lots of things that I'd missed. The service is expensive, but I now se it as a required expense. It is simply otherwise too difficult to get rid of the lice completely. My kids love Hair Fairies and would honestly go there just for fun. They plug in a movie and are quire content

Anyone that would give this service less than 5 stars has not had a child with lice. The Hair Fairies were sent from heaven. My daughter got lice from a classmate. There was a note sent home from school that stated that someone in school had lice. When she started scratching I tried to check for the lice myself. This was very complicated because despite all the information online I had no idea what I was looking for. I took her to a nurse practitioner to examine her hair and she too found nothing. Turns out both of us were wrong. I saw the lice crawling on her pillowcase a few days later and I spent 4 hours trying to remove the nits myself. This was frustrating for both of us.
In comes the hair fairies, they were able to put me at ease from the moment I called because they knew what they were talking about. They understood how to get rid of these awful things. There salon is very high end they are located on Clark in Lincoln Park, (ample parking available right in front). The staff was very knowledgeable. They went right to work removing 65 nits from her hair. Nits I had spend 4 hours trying to find the night before. The entire process takes 3 visits and can be pricey BUT when you consider the time out of school and off work it is cheap. I felt like a weight was taken off my shoulders after I left the salon.
The classmate's case of lice has returned because the over the counter stuff does not work. You need to remove the nits. My daughter is thankfully lice free. She loves the salon and could not wait to tell all her friends how cool it was. I highly recommend this service!!
