From the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center,
The Hancock Observatory invites families to take in Chicago's magnificent views, day or night! Atop one of the nation's tallest buildings (Chicago's 3rd tallest, after the
Sears Tower and the Amoco Building), you'll be able to see landmarks and neighborhoods around Chicago, as well as the vastness of Lake Michigan and surrounding states.
Walk along the new open-air
Skywalk. Take in the
History Wall.
Soundscopes are the new talking telescopes that tell you all about the sites you are viewing (in four languages!). Take photos at the faux window-washer rig or high-rise construction beam.
Individual Sky Tours are $4 with admission and "Tours for Two", shared audio tours (one Sky Tour - two headphones), are $5 with admission.
See if your kids can locate all 13 rooftop swimming pools within view of the Hancock!
Birthday parties (for kids and adults) can be held in the Espression by Lavazza cafe.
The
John Hancock Center has a 750-car
parking garage, offered for Observatory visitors, with entrances on Chestnut Street and Delaware Street.
Drinking fountains, payphones, and bathrooms are available at Observatory level, with
changing tables in both men's and women's bathrooms. Stroller and wheelchair accessible.
