Hansen's is one of the largest specialty sports retailers in San Diego County. It sells surfboards, skateboards, kayaks, body boards, snowboards, and skis, along with clothing and accessories for all of the above.
Operating in North County since the early 1960's, Hansen's shows an impressive commitment to the community, particularly to its children. It sponsors the Hansen's Surf Team and offers college scholarships to outgoing seniors at some of the local high schools. It also offers an incentive program for kids in schools; Hansen's "Goods for Grades" program allows kids to earn vouchers for cash toward merchandise for each "A" and "B" awarded on final or mid-term report cards.
Hansen's rents beach equipment - everything from chairs and umbrellas to boards, dive gear, and wetsuits - and does a brisk winter business with its ski and snowboard rental and repair service.

From I-5 take the Encinitas Blvd. exit west to Pacific Coast Highway. Follow PCH south (left) for two blocks and two signs. Hansen's is on the left.
