The Lyon Arboretum at the University of Hawaii-Manoa, offers trails of varying difficulty and length through a lush landscape including the Aihualama Waterfall, incredible views, an ethnobotanical garden, and palms from around the world. Maps are available on the website to download.
tips:
The arboretum is located in a tropical rainforest, so even on sunny days be prepared for rain...and bugs. Wear footwear with good traction; mosquito repellent and umbrellas are available at the reception center.
getting there:
Located a half-mile walk past Paradise Park from the last stop on TheBus Route 5.
