HC Haircuts for Kids4513

I've been taking my 3-yr-old here since he was a baby and think she does a terrific job with the haircut and the kids. Easy to get a day-of appointment and parking right in front of the shop. I will start taking my 10-mo-old here too. Nusrat, the stylist, is very sweet and calm throughout. I highly recommend her to all my friends.

We've had great experiences with this salon. Our son has already had 4 haircuts, starting at 5 1/2 months old. Our daughter had her first haircut here as well. There are lots of things for the kids to do and the stylist, Nusrat, is QUICK! Great tapered cut for our son every time - I never would have believed that you could do layering on a 5 1/2 month old! - and a cute style at the end of her cut for our daughter. We will continue to come here.

My three year old has had her haircut at several kids' places, but we like this one the best. It is always easy to get an appointment the same day. Nusrat is gentle and talks to my daughter and me about what we would like for her hair. My daughter loves to get the Tootsie Pop at the end.

Nusrat, the stylist, is very quiet and gentle. My fidgety son sat for her nicely because she's so calm. The toys were clean. Every time we go, smiling moms and kids come in while my son is getting his hair cut. Nusrat gives him a better layered cut than Beachcomber or that pricey and untalented place in the UVillage. I go out of my way to get my son's hair cut at HC.

I gave it 3 stars, though I don't really know what good points this place has. It seems kind of dirty. We were running a little late for our appointment, and still had to wait 5-10 mins. The haircut was what I wanted, but a little uneven. I will now have to try and touch up my 2 year olds hair myself. I will not be going back there.

I took my daughter here to get her first haircut (she is two). I have been cutting her hair and wanted to see what a professional could do. I'm sorry we went:
1. The toys in the place were filthy. The toys in the waiting area are covered in grime and look like they are not cleaned regularly. The container of toys the woman handed my daughter to play with had locks of another child's hair in them.
2. The woman had little repor with kids. Not only was she not particularly good with kids in general (my child or the one before) but she stopped my daughter's haircut to answer the phone. Anyone with a 2 year old knows they have limited patience - I was happy to get my daughter to sit in the chair by herself and distracted with toys - as it was my daughter was losing it by the end so any interruption is very much not appreciated.
3. Most importantly, the haircut was terrible. All she did was cut in a straight line around my daughter's head. I can do that myself - she did not attempt to style it in any way.
This is a total waste of time and money and I felt dirty just being in the place.

I took both my children there and found them to be understanding, and caring.The cut was fantastic, and the hairstylist (I belive her name was Michelle) Put so much fun into it that my guys can't wait to go back!

took my 2 1/2 year old daughter today for her first haircut. she has EXTREMELY curly hair and the lady did a great job. my daughter was slightly intimidated by having to lay down to get her hair washed but the lady quickly gave her a kitty to hold. great selection of vehicles to sit in and loved the idea of a bin of toys to hold and play with. she forgot she was getting her hair cut. also, nice touch to allow her to pick her own scent of shampoo and conditioner. the lady even asked if she wanted something pretty done with clips after - a big hit! all in all a GREAT experience and my daughter wanted to stay and play in the play house.

our stylist was awful- she made rude enough comments that my daughter started to cry, and the cut wasn't that great either.

Don't go! The haircutter keep jerking my children's heads into position and was not very understanding when my kids wanted to sit on my lap because they were scared. Our kids are only 3 years old, so a little more understanding and tenderness could have helped. All through the cutting there was no encouragement as you would expect someone who works with kids. Just reprimanding for not keeping the head in position. I strongly do not recommend this place and I was near furious as how our kids were treated with all the head jerking. Needless to say, we will not be back and this is the first time I have ever left on-line feedback, so you can image how strongly I felt about the bad experience. Horrible. That haircutter should not be cutting kids hair.

This is the place we all agree on. We have been to several other places in town but my 4.5 year-old always asks to go back here. His little brother wasn't even 2 when he went for the first time and the staff was very kind and gentle. As a mom, I like it because they have always listened to what I wanted and offered suggestions that I liked. The hair cuts are just what we agreed on and they treat each child as an individual and give them what they need, from space aliens and great questions for my older one to gentle words and fire engines for my younger one.

Like the review said, we got a last minute appointment easily (a few weekends before Christmas when Hair Chair was booked solid). The stylists are really nice, and our 3 year old liked it a lot. It was nice NOT to have a huge toy store adjoining it -- made getting in and out easy. Found free parking easily too.

we took our 2-year old for his first haircut today and were very happy with hc. here's why... - we got a last minute appointment with no problem - the people are nice, the fee is reasonable - easy to get to and no trouble parking right on roosevelt - lots for the kids to do - both before and during the haircut - to keep them happy and occupied. like most kid hair places, the 'chairs' are cars, boats, etc. but as an added bonus they are given baskets of toys and books to play with while the staff cuts their hair we saw michelle and liked her, will be going back next time
