The Heavier Than Air Family Theatre Company is a resident children's community theater group sponsored by the Associated Students of Green River Community College and Green River Foundation. The company performs several family-friendly musicals each year.

HTA offers a summer theatre program for children ages three to 17.

Located in Auburn, about 30 minutes from downtown Seattle. From Seattle: Take I-5 southbound. Merge onto I-405 northbound. Merge onto SR 167 toward Kent/Auburn. Exit 15th Street NW and turn left. Follow 15th, which becomes Harvey Road. Turn left onto 8th Street NE. Turn right onto 105th Place SE. Turn left onto 107th Place SE, which becomes SE 320th Street.

My 16 year old son saw what a great time his friends were having in their high school productions and though he might like to try theatre. He is quite shy so it was a huge leap for him. HTA embraced and encouraged him and he absolutely loved every minute being in the "Fiddler on the Roof" production Summer '09.

Heavier Than Air is a great place to introduce your children to theatre. The shows are family friendly and the price is right. My family saw "The Wizard of Oz" there in 2001 and once we saw the Wicked Witch "melt", we were hooked! We've been seeing shows there ever since!

This theater in Auburn is a great place to see live plays for the whole family. Our kids and their friends have grown up going there and the shows are always fun and well done. The plays are often musicals and always seem to entertain older people as well as kids. Heavier Than Air is one of our regular places to go.

My girlfriend and her daughter have participated in HTA for many years and although I have moved to Alaska, when I am in town, I always make sure to attend whatever production they are working on. It is a wonderful family atmosphere and I have always enjoyed the shows!

We have been attending performances at HTA for over 7 years and enjoy the intimate setting. Kids can sit near the stage and really be close to the action. Well done shows for families at affordable prices. We love it!

Kent Family

This theater is the best around for kids in South King County (Auburn, Renton, Kent and beyond). The set designs are wonderful and the cast memebers are friendly and fun. The productions are selected with children in mind. You gotta love this place for the whole family. The cost is affordable for the whold family. Also, The Summer Camp is a wonderful place for kids to learn self-esteem. I rate this place extremely high.

Great Family theatre that presents wonderful shows with local singers and actors. The theatre also knows how to engage everyone that attends through wonderful scripts, music, costumes and even their seating. Children (age appropriate) are encouraged to sit on a platform right the same level as some of the actors. You can see their sweat and tears up close and personal. Inexpesive way to be able to have your family enjoy the local talent and introduce your kids to the arts.
